Our mission is to provide a common meeting ground for sportspeople and wildlife conservationists by which a united and organized effort can be made for the propagation, conservation and protection of all forms of wildlife in North Dakota and Minnesota.
The North Dakota Outdoors recently did a video segment about our Junior Wildlife Club and the importance of wildlife organizations.
The RRASC meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Wahpeton Community Center at 304 South 5th Street, Wahpeton, ND 58075.
We’ll also have meetings at the Kidder Recreation Area, Mooreton Pond, Trap and Skeet shooting at the Head of the Red Gun Club or Trap Shooting at the Mooreton Sportman’s Club.

Wildlife Federation upcoming events, NDG&F issues and activities, MN DNR issues and activities, Ottertail River Public Access project update, Outdoor Adventure Foundation status, Scholarship program update, Red River shoreline fishing access project reports, Youth Hunting Guide status, upcoming events, discussions of the many area youth events, schedules, proposals for new projects and others issues as they arise.

Hides for Wildlife – During hunting season the Red River Area Sportsmen’s Club is collects deer hides at Wahpeton Auto Value in a recptacle NE of the building. The hides are sold to raise funds for area wildlife habitat projects, including waterfowl production areas, pheasant habitat, waterfowl nesting sites, food plots, etc.
The Red River Area Sportsmen’s Club College Scholarship Program is a college scholarship for those pursuing a career in Fish and Wildlife Management, Law Enforcement, Biology or Zoology at a two- or four-year college. The Sportsmen’s Club offers scholarships for camps, including: Fishing & Shooting Camp, ND Wildlife Federation Camp, Forkhorn Camp, Woodie Camp or other applicable outdoor camps. Call Cindie VanTassel at 643-4374 for details.
The Red River Area Sportsmen’s Club is a local sponsor of the North Dakota Duck Stamp Contest for the following grade categories: K-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12. Entry & registration forms are available at the Parks & Rec Department office. The contest is coordinated by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and Chahinkapa Zoo. Students will draw waterfowl, limited to North American ducks, geese or swans on 9×12″ paper.
The North Dakota Community Action Sportsmen Against Hunger program is accepting donations of goose meat taken during the early Canada goose season. In addition, the program will accept Canada and light (snow, blue and Ross’s) goose donations during the regular waterfowl season.
